Author, speaker, and near-death experience survivor.

Steve Weber spent his working life in technology on Long Island, New York, running his own business — working as a computer programmer, network engineer, and IT project manager. A practical man who lived for the next Harley ride and didn't give much thought to the next life. That changed in the spring of 2015, when an SUV collided with his Harley-Davidson and he spent three weeks in a coma. What happened during those weeks — in a place he has come to call The Place Between Here and There — became the story his books try to tell. He doesn't ask anyone to take it on faith; he only shares what he was shown, as plainly and honestly as he can.

The years since the accident have held both joy and heartbreak. The joy has been a new awareness Steve carried back with him — a way of seeing that brings him happiness in everyday life, and lets him find peace even in its challenges. The heartbreak was the loss of his son, Nick, whose life and light run through everything Steve writes. And it is that same awareness that has helped Steve live with the loss, and find some meaning within it.

If there is one thing Steve learned from the experience, it is this: life is good and people are good, even when sad things happen. He knows those are just words. But find the meaning in them for your own life, and he believes you will find peace — in this world, and in any world that may come after.

Today Steve is retired and lives in The Villages, Florida, where each week he leads Mantras, Meditations and Good Vibrations — a sound meditation gathering that shares its name with his third book. Music runs through all of it: Steve plays guitar, harmonium, flute, and a six-foot gong, and writes his own music as well. On his YouTube channel, he writes, produces, and edits everything himself — the guided meditations, the short stories, and the website that brings it all together.
